Drifting On (a poem)
And in the sun,
beside the sea,
my thoughts drift on,
from you to me.
I wonder if
one day we'll be,
together
once again.
And in the dawn,
a stifled yawn,
I rise
from nightly rest.
A hand glides down
from shoulder blade
and slips
across my chest.
I know those fingers,
I feel that touch,
I kiss
the warmth
in you.
I always knew
you would return,
and we
would be
as two.
